About this piece
 
Tormented explores inner tension, emotion, and  the complexity of the human psyche. Itsa expressive forms and colors capture the intensity of thought and feeling, playing with the interplay of shadow and luminosity as a freflection of inner conflict and fragile balance. 
 
Tormented later in 2005 became the starting point for Inside Out – Lines as a Device to Exteriorize the Rhythm Guided by Emotions, a dialogue between nine paintings and nine musical pieces by composer Miguel Marín (a.k.a. Árbol) — two different yet complementary artistic languages.
 
Three original paintings have been created to date, all developed from the same preparatory sketch and using the same palette.  
The most recent, created in 2019, was acquired by Gordailua Art Collection, Gipuzkoa Heritage Cente, as one of five works selected to represent different collections and stages of the artist´s career.
