Burning

2005.
Acrylic on canvas.
122 × 152 cm.

A figure stretches upward, neck elongated, hands tensed, expressing a fire that burns from within.

The red palette amplifies the intensity of pain, aguish, and the inner turmoil thra emerges when emotion touches the deepest parts of our being.

A visual exploration of how grief, loss and tension can ignite the body as much as the soul.

One of nine paintings created in collaboration with composer Miguel Marín (a.k.a. Árbol) in London, 2005, part of the series Inside Out – Lines as a Device to Exteriorize the Rhythm Guided by Emotions, a dialogue between nine paintings and nine musical pieces — two different yet complementary artistic languages.
